The Early Years Foundation Stage states that it is a legal requirement for all child minders and child care providers to have members of staff hold a current and up to date paediatric first aid certificate. It also states that First Aid providers MUST be approved by the local authority.

First Aid Training 4 U is approved to deliver this course by Sure Start, County Durham

If you require this certificate and decide to use another training provider, please ensure that they ARE an approved provider with Sure Start.

Paediatric First aid has far too long been at the bottom of the shopping list when it comes to first aid training. This course, which specifically concentrates on babies and children, is not a new concept. It has always been there, but remained in the shadow of the adult first aid course.

The United Kingdom Resuscitation Council states "It has long been known that many children receive no resuscitation because rescuers fear doing harm"

First Aid Training 4 U is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of paediatric first aid training and building confidence in the candidates who may one day have to put their training into practice.

The Paediatric First Aid course is of 12 hours duration, usually over two consecutive days. However, we understand the constraints placed on organisations to provide training time for staff. For this reason we can deliver this course by three (4 hour) sessions over three weeks.

Our venue is in Bishop Auckland. However, if it is more convenient for you to divide the course into separate sessions, it may be possible to deliver the course at your premises if suitable.

Our Paediatric First Aid course is delivered by a registered Paramedic and more than meets the required criteria as recommended by Ofsted and EYFS.

The modules covered in the course are:

Each successful candidate will receive a certificate which is valid for three years and a paediatric first aid handbook.

Please note, if a candidate is attending a 3x4 hour course, all sessions have to be attended to achieve certification.
